1. When will the online original application process be available?
The online licensing process became available in September of 2020.

2. How do I hire a candidate that is getting a license for the first time?

3. Can the application fees be paid electronically?
Yes.  You may use a credit card or an electronic company check to pay the fees online.

4. When I submit the application with the fees, will the candidate be licensed immediately?
No.  The candidate will be in a “Pending” status until all information submitted is reviewed and fingerprint results are cleared.  Once everything is cleared, the Real Estate Commission (REC) staff will be able to approve the candidate for licensure.

5. How will I be notified of the approval?
An automatic email confirmation will be sent to the Broker of Record and the candidate once approval is granted.  You can also check the feature on the DOBI website.

6. What if there is a problem with the candidate’s application?
REC staff will notify the candidate and/or Broker via email if additional information is required.

7. Is this a temporary process or will this be in place permanently?
This new option is a permanent feature in the online licensing system.  The paper application submission process is still an option; however, the electronic submission is easily accessible by the Broker of Record, and streamlines the application submission, payment and approval process.
