TRENTON – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced that the Lakewood Vehicle Center is closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19. The Lakewood Vehicle Center will reopen Saturday, November 28.
The employee who tested positive was last in the Lakewood Center on Friday, November 19.
Seven other MVC Centers remain closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location, and will reopen on the following dates:
Upon closure due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, MVC Centers are cleaned and remain closed until contact tracers have cleared enough employees to reopen or any required quarantine is complete.
In addition, the South Plainfield and Wayne Licensing Centers are operating as appointment-only locations until Monday, November 23. No walk-ins are allowed at either location currently.
As previously announced, the South Plainfield and Wayne Centers will be closed Saturday, November 21, as Saturday employees are required to quarantine at both locations.
Customers should always log on to to check the status of locations before heading out to any MVC facility.
